Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is leading the viewership charts at the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC), with the Mid Season Cup (MSC) currently standing as the event's most-watched tournament to date, according to Esports Charts. The milestone follows an unpredictable Group Stage that delivered some of MSC's biggest upsets, as defending champions Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH) and last year's grand finalists Selangor Red Giants (SRG) crashed out before the Knockout Stage. The Group Stage also saw Türkiye's Aurora Gaming (AUR) emerge as one of the tournament's surprise contenders.

Powerhouses toppled, new contenders rise
AUR emerged as one of the Group Stage's biggest revelations. After stunning defending champions TLPH in their opening match, AUR followed it up with another statement victory over ONIC to top Group B and establish themselves as one of the tournament's leading contenders. AUR's run adds to Türkiye's growing momentum in MLBB Esports, with the country set to host the M8 World Championship (M8) Finals in January 2027, the first time MLBB's flagship tournament finals will be staged in Europe.
AUR's rise proved to be the catalyst for one of the Group Stage's biggest shake-ups. TLPH bowed out in their second Group Stage match after failing to recover from their opening defeat, while ONIC rebounded to eliminate SRG and clinch a Knockout Stage berth. With two of the tournament's biggest favourites eliminated, the race for the title is now wide open.
MLBB claims EWC 26 viewership lead

MLBB is already leading the way at EWC 26, with the MSC reaching 2,010,159 Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV), the highest of any EWC 26 title so far, according to Esports Charts. The record was set during the Group B clash between ONIC and SRG, before the tournament's biggest matches had even begun. Reaching this milestone ahead of the Knockout Stage underscores MLBB's global appeal and further cements its legacy as the most-watched esport at the world's largest multi-title esports event.

The final eight's quest for the throne begin
The Knockout Stage bracket was revealed following the conclusion of the Group Stage. The remaining eight teams now enter the tournament's decisive stage, where every match is win-or-go-home in a Best-of-Five (BO5) single-elimination bracket. Upper Bracket teams earned the right to select their opponents for the opening round of the Knockout Stage. The selection order was based on point differential—calculated as games won minus games lost—with the highest-ranked team selecting first.
Each Upper Bracket team chose to revisit a Group Stage rivalry, opting to face opponents they had already defeated. The decisions signalled their confidence in repeating the feat against teams that had battled through the Lower Bracket to keep their tournament hopes alive.
MLBB returns to EWC for a third consecutive year with the expanded MSC and the rebranded MLBB Women's International (MWI), under the "Two Champions, One Game" banner.
MLBB's legacy at EWC continues to grow. The recently-concluded MWI became the tournament's most-watched edition to date, recording 565,526 Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV), according to Esports Charts. At EWC 2025, MSC and MWI generated more than 50.32 million Hours Watched (HW), accounting for over a quarter of the event's total viewership across all game titles. With that momentum behind it, all eyes now turn to the Knockout Stage of MSC at EWC 2026, where only one team will etch their name into MLBB history.
